It is absurd that women have to be more covered up than men and that the skin of women is demonized.

Women are supposed to be sexy but not show ourselves off in western society. Confusing, to say the least.

its not even close you can argue that women are already the stronger and more dominant sex.the only question is lol how irrelevant will men be next to women in the future cuase women are far from growing and getting stronger.i read an article well alot of articles that state men are actually shrinking in size.the ave size of a man has been shrinking consistently and at a rapid rate.another article i read was just titled the incredible shrinking NEW MAN.SO WITH WOMEN growing larger and more powerfull as time goes by and men getting smaller and smaller at an even faster pace and more feminized.ask yourself HOW MORE INFERRIOR and irrelavent will men become???talk about 20 or so yrs from now???it wont just be that males will become second class citizans.it will be males are going to be completely helpless to women in everything.not even a debat.men will be the women of the 1950 s and women will run this planet.men have already been reduced to a size women can deal with very easy.lol in 20 yrs sorry guys tour not only shrinking down to size while women grow.your shrinking in worth next to women.want respect ???youll get as much respect as women feel you need along with waiting for your women to come home to a clean house from work lolyes YES ARROGANCE and with good reason.reduced to a womans pet be happy living under the rule of woman cuase its not far off

Now, bare with me because what I say at the end might surprise you, I do believe that Men are the stronger sex both physically and mentally, at least for the moment. When men put their mind to something it is hard to stop them. But women are most definitely catching up, and better, showing signs of possibly surpassing their male counterparts. Simply put, 75% of the guys I know are athletic... but out of shape, mostly due to beer and a preference for high fat diets and sedentary lifestyles. however, 75% of the women I know are slender, athletic, and surprisingly strong. 3/4 of the women I know have obvious Abs, while fewer than 1/3 of the men I know have Abs of even comparable levels. The women at my work place have bigger biceps, broader shoulders, and more muscular legs then the majority of the men working there. And in all of my advanced classes, the women out number the men, sometimes 2:1, with the opposite in the few remedial classes I have taken in subjects I am not good at. Math has become a class that is almost entirely Female dominated, while classes such as Sociology and Psychology are becoming safe havens for guys, sadly these guys tend to be Pot-heads.

I watched a 5'2" girl pick up a 120lb box with one arm that a 6'1" guy nearly 40% heavier could not without a second arm.

BUT this does not mean that women are stronger, at least not yet. But why does it even matter? I am a man who loves strong athletic women, and I'm proud to say that I find muscles highly attractive, and as equally attractive and a well trained mind. I've asked girls to speak foreign languages to me in bed after watching them lift things I could not. I'm not afraid to admit that I kinda want a woman who is aggressive enough to take the lead when the time suits it. But I am by no means submissive. Raised by a conservative, Irish-Catholic family, I LOVE a good fight and have been raised in an environment of arguments and when I KNOW in my heart that I am right, I will fight like the devil for my cause.

But... sometimes, I do want to be the follower. A woman in charge, bristling with confidence, a brain to be respected and a body strong enough to deserve it. Well, I think that women getting stronger is a good thing.

I will not bow down to a women any more than I would expect her to bow down to me. Dominance, NO. True Equality and respect, YES. I'm a man, it's my job to be THE MAN... But sometimes, I like it if the woman can open up the pickle jar... especially if I can't.

Just my opinion.

Perhaps. But if the costume redesign was meant as a nod toward realism, and I suspect it was, they would have done better to have fixed the top and not bothered her with pants.
Thanks for this article! I enjoyed it! I find the discussion of women athletes and their looks interesting. There's something to be said for being a good looking athlete, just like male athletes, but it shouldn't override their abilities. There's a good discussion of this over at TC Huddle. I found your article looking for more opinions on this.
I have done a lot of research on why girls are on the accent and boys appear to be on the decline. The first reason is that back in the 60's through the 80's boys were out performing girls accademicaly. At that time the women's movement was comming into its own. these women couldn't accept that their alleged superior females were being out performed by their alleged inferior males so they claimed the educational system favored the way boys learn was the reason why boys excelled.
So give them credit they did a masterful propaganda blitz using skewed studies purporting evidence that girls were being handicaped. so the short of it is they succeeded in reforming the system under the false pretense to make education gender neutral but their real objective was to make the sustem favorable to girls and unfavorable to boys. The result is what we are now seeing girls are out performing boys.

The next big reason why girls are out performing boys is because there are many more girl susport groups than boy susport groups. These suport groups for girls are telling their girls that in order to get the best paying jobs it is not enough for girls to merely equal male performance. Girls were being enouraged to out shine the boys to get a chance at the best paying jobs. thus girls are on a mission. they are on fire. This is why while boys are playing video games girls are studying hard.
the gender gap will be clossed when A. the educational system is reformed to a truly gender neutral system and B. more boy susport groups spring up telling boys that they must equal the girls performances in order to get their fair share of the good paying jobs. This will only take place after enough males feel the pain and get off our collective unmotivated asses and realize that males are not inferior to girls. May the day come soon before to many young, angry, frustrated, jobless men start a revolution that won't be pretty and the future won't be wearing a skirt!

I am not sure women are stronger in their upper torso, quite the contrary. But it may be that women have always been stronger than men in other crucial areas, like the ability to resist epidemics or recover from serious injury or illness. We men also stand in admiration of women in yoga classes where the strongest, most agile and most flexible practicioners are most often, but not always, females.
Women also live longer than men, which is a key measures of strength (for me!).
